(b. 1992, Peru) Alejandro Mego is a visual artist whose practice spans painting, video, and sound art. His work is marked by a deep attention to the landscape and the relationship between humans and their environment, explored through a lyrical and contemplative gaze. His bike journeys across regions of Peru, Chile, and Bolivia have been a continuous source of inspiration, feeding an imaginary where the physical experience of movement converges with reflections on human presence in nature. Mego explores the tension between presence and absence, the imprint of the body on the landscape, and the dynamic between intervention and emptiness. Defined by subtle geometries, restrained lines, and minimal forms, his compositions acquire a poetic and meditative quality through atmospheric treatment and the play of light and shadow. As art historian and curator Daniel Bernedo notes: “What defines Alejandro Mego’s work is its sensitive observation and intense attention to the convergence of man and nature; a perspective born from his passion for cycling through Peru, Chile, and Bolivia […] From a lyricism of light and shadow treated atmospherically and metaphorically.” His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions, including: Other Landscapes, Casa Fugaz – Callao Monumental, Peru (2021); The Divine Violet – Haciendo Contexto VIII, Proyecto AMIL (Lima, 2025); 8 Days of Free Fall, Casa Bulbo (Lima, 2025); Bikini Art Fair, La Punta, Peru (2025); Intimate Distance: City Visuals, Alianza Francesa (Lima, 2025); Emergencia x Revolver Galería, Casa Bulbo (Lima, 2024); Parallels, Casa Bulbo (Lima, 2024); Depicted I & II, C.C.
